Navigating School Transitions. Why They Hit So Hard.

Hi Reader,

What have you noticed when teens are moving from junior high to high school, or from high school toward graduation?

Excitment. Intensity. Overwhelm. Mixed bag?

Teens experience these moments not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and physiologically.

Because:

  • Belonging feels high stakes.
  • Identity is in flux: “Who am I?” and “Who am I becoming?”
  • Nervous systems gets activated by uncertainty.

Even small decisions, choosing a class or a friend group, can feel enormous.

Takeaway for this week:
Getting curious for youself- In what way can I try validating her feelings before offering solutions:
E.g. "This feels important to you. I’m here."

Validation helps her nervous system settle and opens the door for calmer & clearer thinking.

With gratitude,

Chantal

Hello Reader, When it comes to thinking about that next step for teens from Junior High to High School, I often hear questions like: ansitions aren’t just academic they challenge your teen’s social world too. They might worry: “Should I go to the same school as my friends?" Will I lose my friends?” “What if I pick the wrong classes?” “Which one should I choose?” Teens are figuring things out step by step. There is no one right path. What matters is giving them space to explore and supporting...

Hello Reader, If you’re raising a teen girl today, here's one you already know:Her phone isn’t just a device.
