I can count on me! Keeping promises to yourself as the reps.

"Oh no!"

I stared at a blank screen 🫨

Everything I had just written was GONE.

Hundreds of words. Thoughts that had been flowing effortlessly. Ideas that felt important and meaningful. Lost in an instant.

My first reaction was frustration and panic.

And then I caught myself.

Trust.

Trust that the words weren't really gone.

Trust that the message was still inside me.

Trust that I could begin again.

As I sat down to rewrite, I realized this experience mirrored what I often see in my work with teen girls.

Whether it's recovering from an injury, navigating a friendship challenge, managing anxiety, or stepping into something new, growth requires trust.

And trust is often one of the most overlooked parts of resilience.

Building resilience isn't about eliminating uncertainty. It's about helping our teens develop confidence in their ability to move through these difficult moments.

One small way to support this is by encouraging regular trust building check-ins:

What am I feeling right now?

What do I need?

What is my body telling me?

Another powerful practice is helping teens keep promises to themselves. Every time they follow through, whether it's completing a workout, taking a break when needed, or doing something they said they would do, it reinforces an important message:

"I can count on me."

Trust grows one rep at a time.💪

One of the greatest gifts we can help our teen daughters develop is the belief that even when life feels uncertain, they can trust themselves to move through hard things and come out stronger on the other side.

With gratitude,

Chantal

Shake it off! But she noticed herself becoming more hesitant during certain plays When the Injury Didn’t Happen to Your Daughter… it still affects her. But there’s another side of sports injuries we don’t talk about enough:The impact on the athletes who witnessed it. Recently, I spoke with a former competitive athlete...

No commute. No squeezing in one more stop. Let’s be honest, teen girl athletes (and their parents) are busy! Between early morning conditioning, practices, games, school, friendships, and trying to catch a breath… their schedules are full. That’s why I love virtual sessions. They fit into real life. No commute. No rushing...
