Reader The other night, my son and his girlfriend were making taco dinner for us. Feeling luxury and gratitude, I was in the next room, writing this very newsletter. When I heard one of them say: “I’m putting love into every one of these.” I heard them as ... They teased each other. And as I sat there listening (and working- I swear I was working!), something landed for me: This is what connection sounds like. Feeling included, like you belong, like you are mastering something while enjoying the present moment. So much of what teen girls (and honestly, all of us) are really longing for is this: Am I safe to be here as I am? When teens feel emotionally safe, their nervous systems soften and they don’t have to stay on high alert and they don’t have to perform or protect themselves. They get to be well...human. Inside everything we do at Pyramid Psychology- our groups, our guides, our events, our emails- this is what we’re always coming back to: How do we help teen girls feel safe enough to be themselves? May your homes be filled with tasty kitchens, playful banter, and love stirred into the recipe. Hello! I’m Chantal, teen life coach and psychologist who’s helping teen girls build confidence, handle tough stuff, and grow into their most authentic selves. I’ve curate tools to make your journey as a parent, auntie, or supportive professional a little easier, and a lot more connected. These are the things I use, love, and trust to spark calm, courage, and real conversations with teens.
Reader SO glad you are here & part of our raising resilient teen girls community. If you are new here WELCOME! If you've been here a while- THANK YOU for investing in the ripple effect of a confident teen girl! When I walked across a frozen river a couple weeks ago, I noticed something important: My mind was trying to protect me… while also kinda trying to keep me small. Our brains are amazing at imagining everything that could go wrong. Sometimes that’s helpful. Other times it stops us from...
Hi Reader, A couple weeks ago, I stepped onto a frozen river with my Business Bestie. A well-traveled winter trail outside of Canmore. My nervous system however, did not care about this fact. The sound of water beneath the ice at one point was audible. The surface shimmered and shifted under my ice cleats. My Business Bestie marveled and highlighted at how wild it was to convince our minds that this was a good idea. And yet… we did it. Not because we were reckless, rather because we noticed...
