The Most Underrated Mental Health Tool for Teen Girls

This year, I decided to take on a big personal development milestone: dismantling my money stories. 💰💸
(10/10 recommend… if you enjoy personal growth and moderate existential dread Reader )

It’s been a doozie mix of:

Excitement ✔️
Courage ✔️
Sweaty palms ✔️
Fear of judgment, not being liked, being misunderstood ✔️✔️✔️

I was challenged to do something wildly uncomfortable for me. Post my BIG revenue goal inside a psychologists’ Facebook group.

Not anonymously.
With my actual name attached.

I typed it out.
Second-guessed everything.
Closed my eyes.

And hit send.

Instantly, my nervous system lit up like a Christmas tree:
What if people judge me?
What if I’m not liked anymore?
What if I get kicked out of the group and have to live under a bridge?
(Okay, maybe that last one was dramatic but still)

And then I realized.... This is the exact emotional terrain teen girls are navigating every single day.

👉 What if they don’t like me as I am?
👉 What if they really knew me?
👉 What if I say the wrong thing and I’m out?

So what happened.... a couple people questioned my post. But far more than that, I was met with encouragement, curiosity, kindness, and genuine support.

I felt seen.
I felt safe.
I felt a sense of belonging.

And this is something we often miss when we talk about teen mental health. Connection, more than a "nice to have".

Connection is regulation.
Connection is safety.
Connection is the foundation that allows courage to exist at all.

When teen girls feel truly seen without needing to perform, prove, or perfect anxiety settles. Nervous systems soften. Confidence grows. Brave choices become possible.

This is the heartbeat behind the work we do with teen girls and the parents raising them.

And while I’m not opening the doors just yet…

I can tell you this:

Something meaningful is coming.
Something rooted in safety, connection, and courage.

More soon. 💛

With so much gratitude,

Chantal

Reader, If you’re a parent of a teen girl who has recently lost her friends, this might ring painfully familiar. Mornings are dreaded. Heavy. Getting to school is a battle. You notice she is more silent, keeping to herself, more irritable. In the "I'm fine" quiet land. Losing friendships at this age isn’t just a social shift. For many girls, it shakes their world. Their sense of safety, identity, and confidence all gone at once. We hear girls say things like: “I don’t know who to sit with...

Reader, The other day my business coach said something that made me pause and smile: “You’re giving people a license to live big.” And immediately, I thought of the teen girls we serve. Because while coping skills are important (and we absolutely teach them), they’re not the whole story. They need permission. Permission to: take up space have all the feelings want meaningful friendships try new things live a life that actually feels like theirs Teen girls can become very good at coping....
