What teen girls aren’t saying out loud

Would you agree that teen girls are carrying more than meets the eye Reader?

I've been noticing the silent pressure effect.

Pressure to please others. Pressure to be kind & agreeable. Pressure to have it together even when they're not feeling it.

From the outside, they often seem fine.

But then underneath? There’s a lot of overthinking, self-doubt, and emotional weight that doesn’t always have a safe place to land.

I wrote more on this in my latest blog.... about pressure, perfection, and relationships, and the things teen girls aren’t necessarily saying out loud.

If you’re raising a teen girl, or supporting one, you might recognize some of this:

  • The girl who works hard to keep everyone happy
  • The girl who feels things deeply but doesn’t want to be too much
  • The girl who looks confident but constantly quietly questions herself

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone and neither is she.

More on this soon 💛

OPTIONAL PS INVITATION: If this resonates, forward it to another parent who’s raising a teen girl. Sometimes being seen is the first step toward feeling better.

With so much gratitude,

Reader, If you’re a parent of a teen girl who has recently lost her friends, this might ring painfully familiar. Mornings are dreaded. Heavy. Getting to school is a battle. You notice she is more silent, keeping to herself, more irritable. In the "I'm fine" quiet land. Losing friendships at this age isn’t just a social shift. For many girls, it shakes their world. Their sense of safety, identity, and confidence all gone at once. We hear girls say things like: “I don’t know who to sit with...

Reader, The other day my business coach said something that made me pause and smile: “You’re giving people a license to live big.” And immediately, I thought of the teen girls we serve. Because while coping skills are important (and we absolutely teach them), they’re not the whole story. They need permission. Permission to: take up space have all the feelings want meaningful friendships try new things live a life that actually feels like theirs Teen girls can become very good at coping....
